Privacy Notice
What we collect during the beta, why, and the control you have over it.
This notice explains how LearnToMath handles your personal data during its beta (test) period. LearnToMath is operated by Prithiv K (sole proprietor), Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, India. A fuller privacy policy will follow at the official launch.
1. What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Learning data the service needs to work — your exam attempts, scores, progress, and bookmarks.
- Tests taken without an account — your answers and score, linked only to a random code in your browser's session cookie, so you can see your result and choose to keep it by signing in. If you do not sign in, it is deleted within a day.
- Technical data — your IP address and basic device/browser information, used to keep accounts and the platform secure.
2. Why we collect it
To create and secure your account, to let you sign in, to save your learning progress and exam history, and to protect the service against abuse. We collect only what running the service requires.
3. We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone for advertising. We use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers of any kind.
3a. What other students can see
One part of the service shows your details to other users, so we want you to know about it before you take an exam. After an exam, the results page shows a leaderboard of the top ten attempts, and each entry displays that student's name, profile picture, score and time taken. If one of your attempts places in the top ten for that exam, other students taking it will see your name and score there.
Nothing else you do is visible to other students — your progress, bookmarks, and any attempt outside the top ten are private to you. A test taken without an account never appears on a leaderboard. If you would prefer not to appear on a leaderboard at all, email support@learntomath.com and we will keep you off it.
4. Service providers
A few providers process limited data strictly so the service can function:
- Hostinger — hosts the domain email used to send you verification and account emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — when bot protection is enabled on sign-up and login, it receives your IP address to tell humans apart from automated bots.
- Google Meet — if you join a live class, it takes place on Google's platform, which is subject to Google's own privacy terms.
- YouTube (Google) — recorded classes are played through YouTube's embedded player. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no tracking cookie until you press play; once you play a video, YouTube processes data under Google's own privacy policy.
4a. Recorded classes
Recorded class videos are hosted on YouTube as unlisted videos. Unlisted means the video does not appear in YouTube search, but anyone who has the link can watch it — so a video's link is only ever released to accounts we have given access, and it is not truly private in the way a password-protected file is. Recordings contain only the teacher's screen and voice. Students are muted and off camera, and no student is visible or audible in any recording.
5. Cookies
We set only strictly necessary, first-party cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in (and, if you take a test without an account, to link that test to you until you sign in or it is deleted), and (for administrators only) a device-trust cookie. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so no cookie banner is needed.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to close your account. Send any such request to support@learntomath.com and we will act on it. Note that during the beta some of these actions may be handled manually.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
8. Children
LearnToMath is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
